The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (SDSGC) is based on an anime having the same name and you guys can watch it on Netflix to understand the game story deeper. However, 7DS itself has an amazing story mode which helps you understand the main story of the movie very easily.
7DS Basics
Rarities: All items, gears, equipment, and heroes have 6 rarities: C → UC → R → SR → SSR → UR. C is the lowest rarity and UR is the highest rarity. C stands for Common, UR = Ultra Common, R = Rare, SR = Super Rare, SSR = Super Super Rare & UR = Ultra Rare.
Diamond is the most valuable currency in this game. It is recommended to save Diamonds and only spend them on drawing newly-released Heroes.
Rerolling
Players will get 14 draws at the beginning of SDSGC. You could get some great Heroes but could also get some bad ones. Having a good hero definitely helps you complete the story game mode much faster.

If you get Red Howzer, Green King (skinny) or Red Arthur, it’s great and no need for a reroll.

PvE Game Modes
Story Mode
Your first goal while playing The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (SDSGC) is to complete the Story Mode.
Story Mode gives a huge load of rewards. It also allows you to unlock a lot of interesting game features and daily quests.
Most of the Story quests are very easy and straight-forward but the last quests are actually very difficult and require some specific strategies.
SP Dungeon
This is one of the main places for farming resources in the game.
Every day, you can use your keys for farming in the Gold Dungeon to get the Treasure Chests, which can be sold for lots of Gold. Also, use the Orbs for farming in the Event Dungeon where you can get Books/XP/Gold and the Evolution Pendants for evolving your Heroes.
Keys and Orbs regenerate over time. All of these resources are always necessary so do not let keys and orbs cap out.
There are also some places in the SP Dungeon allowing you to farm for Books/EXP using Energy/Stamina. And they are always available to attack as long as you have enough Stamina.
Boss Battles
The game has different chapters/worlds. Each world has its own Boss Battle location. Each Boss Battle location has 3 difficulties. This is the place where you can continuously farm for awakening materials.
The more Boss Battles you do, the more chance of triggering the Death Match you have. Once you have triggered the Death Match, you will face a demon.
It usually takes 3-7 battles to summon the Demon.
Co-op Raids
When you summon the Demon as mentioned above, you can challenge it yourself or invite a player into the battle. This is called the Co-op Raid.
Each player can use a normal team, which consists of 3 main heroes and 1 substitute hero, to attack the Demon.
Defeating the Demon gives loads of rare resources for increasing your Hero level cap.
Co-op Raid against Red Demon
Red Demon
The Red Demon is quite easy to beat. All you need to do is to use crowd control skills (freeze/stun/petrify) and disable him from using skills.
You want to have a buffer, DPS and a CC in your team. The substitute hero should be the one who can boost your team power.
- DPS Heroes: Either SR Red Elizabeth & Hawk or SSR Blue Slader is great for this position. It’s much cheaper to build up the SR Red Elizabeth & Hawk
- Buffers: SSR Green Helbram, SR Green Gilthunder, etc. The Gilthunder is a bit better here.
- CC Hero: SSR Green Merlin, SSR Green King or SR Green Gustaf, either is good. SR Heroes are much cheaper to build up at first.
- 4th slot (Substitute): SR Green Cain is a great choice for your beginning. Once you have activated his unique skill, he boosts 10% of all attack related stats for your team!

PvP Game Modes
There are 2 kinds of PvP battles: Geared and Gearless.
- Gearless PvP: You can only access this PvP mode during the early game. Only the main stats of the Heroes are calculated. The costume’s bonus stats are applied here. Awakening, Associations, Food, Level, etc. are all taken into account. Only gears/equipment does not count. Some heroes are not great in this mode because they require specific stats from the gears to work.
- Geared PvP: This unlocks when you reach the Gold 5 Rank in the Gearless PvP mode. All gear stats are working here.
Tier List
Similar to other teambuilding video games, most heroes in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross are only useful for some specific game modes. Many low ranked Heroes can be extremely good in just 1 specific game mode.
At the beginning, the free SSR Blue King you get from the game story mode is actually useful in almost any game modes. The SR Green Gilthunder is super useful at buffing team power in raids and PvP teams.

Auto Battle PvE Farming Team
At the moment, the best auto farming team you can focus during the early game are SR Green Elizabeth & Hawk, SR Blue Weinheidt and SSR Red Howzer.
Once you are able to beat the Extreme Boss Battle on auto, you can start building the next PvE Team.
Knighthoods
In The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, Knighthoods are Guilds or Clans or Alliances.
Knighthoods are unlocked after Chapter 6 of the game.
There are a lot of valuable rewards for doing Knighthoods activities every day.
Equipment Guide
Gears play a huge part in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (SDSGC). This is the main source of your team power.
Assuming that you are very new to the game, here are some useful gearing steps for you.
- Use 4 attack gears + 2 defense gears on your first team (4 Heroes).
- 3 attack gears + 1 HP + 1 Defense Gear is also viable.
- All gears on the left side should be SSR gears. You don’t have to awaken them yet. Just upgrade them to +5.
- All Gears on the right side should be C gears. Don’t bother farming C gears. You can buy them from the merchants in each Town and they are incredibly cheap.
- Since you need 4 ATK pieces and 2 DEF pieces, you might be wondering which type of gear for which slot. Basically this doesn’t actually matter but If you can, try to put your 2-piece set in the middle row. Ideally, you want to have the same sub stats on both middle row gears.
- After you have your gears on both sides of the hero, it’s now time to start upgrading the C gears on the right side. Simply spend all of resources you have to awaken them to 5⭐. You will be a lot more powerful very fast for a super low cost.
- Why? Because common gears are very cheap to upgrade and change stats (reroll). SSR gears and C gears have the same sub-stats, the only difference is the main stat of the gears. Right-side gears have much lower main stats comparing to left-side gears.
- All of the C gears you are working on will not be wasted in the future. You can go with you till the very end of the game.
- Every time you awaken a gear, it will give you a random substat. You can reroll this substat anytime.
As you can see in the screenshot above, when awakening gears, it gives me 3 random sub stats at 3 stars.
- You want to aim for specific types of sub stats. Just reroll the substats if they do not meet the recommendations below:
- Top row = Attack sub stats.
- Middle row = Defense sub stats.
- Bottom row = HP sub stats.
- It’s always great to reroll until when the stats are almost maxed.
- If you get a maxed pierce stat when you are trying to get attack stat, it’s not worth it to keep it at the moment. Just aim for Attack, Defense and HP for now.

All of the Heroes in your team now should have 5⭐ gears on the right side.
All of the C-SSR gears in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross can be farm easily in each chapter. You only need to raise the friendship of each town to level 5 so that you can unlock the hard mode of each dungeon, allowing you to farm for better rewards.
There are also some series of quests that will give you enough SSR gears for all Heroes in your bag. These quests require you to continuously attack a hard free stage 8 times to receive an SSR gear. It is strongly recommended to complete these quests because
- You will get a guaranteed SSR gear for every 8 runs, which is much higher than the normal drop-rate (3%).
- You will also get tons of gears for destroying later. Destroying items via Diane in the Tavern gives you lots of resources.
- You will receive a decent amount of Gold upon finishing the requests.
- You will receive awakening materials while doing the quests and you will need them eventually.
- Doing this means you can farm and do quests at the same time.
I have a lot of SSR Gears now
You now want to reroll for a better main stat on all gears you are using. Most of the time it will give you a really low stat and rolling costs you Diamonds. You will not be able to use anvils to change the main stat.
Any SSR gears that have the main stats below 90% of the maximum should be destroyed right away. You don’t need them.
You can upgrade your SSR Gears to +5 to use. If they have bad main stats, don’t awaken them. Only awaken SSR gears which have good main stats (above 90% of the cap).
You will notice that when you awaken your SSR gear, you usually get the sub stats you don’t want. And when you try to reroll the sub stats, it will cost Diamonds or Anvils.
You do not want to reroll stats using Diamonds. Never.
Only use Anvils for re-rolling stats.
At the moment, you can get anvils from equipment chests or from PvP Shop. However, it’s very rare and hard to get a huge amount of it. The Training Dungeon will be available soon in the future and you can get more anvils from there.
Later in the game, when you have loads of Gold, you can spend them on equipment chests (200k Gold for 11 draws).
Salvaging Gears
This is your main source of getting enhancement stones and awakening stones.
Checking all of the gears you farmined, you will notice that almost everything is very useless and should be salvaged.
Before salvaging SR/SSR gears, enhance them to +1! And only to +1, don’t enhance them to +2 or more.
+1 SR/SSR gears give you a better chance of getting awakening materials with the lowest cost.
Salvaging them will give you mostly 3/4⭐ Awakening Stones. If you want to get 5⭐ Awakening Stones, get to the King in your tavern and exchange them.
After 9999 hours of farming, your team should look like this:
It’s recommended to stop your SSR gears at 3⭐ +5 because it will take you tons of resources to get to 5⭐+5.
Once your team has all 3⭐+5 gears on the left side, you can start working on 4 other sets. These new sets are for your association Heroes.
You now have 8 sets in total.
It’s recommended to have either 4 HP/DEF sets and 4 Attack/DEF sets.
Now, you can start upgrading your 3⭐ SSR gears to 5⭐. Go for the top row gears first, then the bottom row and last one is the middle row.
This is the time where you want to swap out your C gears on the right side for strong SSR gears.
After maxing out the SSR gears for your main Heroes, you want to work on the SSR gears for your association Heroes. However, it’s totally okay to skip this tho.
From now, you can freely start working on specific sets with specific sub stats for specific Heroes in the game.
Ultimate Moves
Whenever you pull out a duplicated SR/SSR hero, you will receive an SR/SSR coin. Upgrading the Ultimate level of a Hero requires the specific SR/SSR coin of that Hero.
SSR Heroes
Don’t level up the Ultimate Move of your SSR Heroes yet.
Why? Because SSR Coins are just too valuable in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. Spending them in leveling Ultimates is totally such a waste.
You want to save the SSR coins for purchasing powerful Heroes in the Coin Shop.
If you are spending your coins on upgrading SSR ultimate, you want to ensure that the Ultimate Skill is super good and it scales up super well at the new level.
For example, the SSR Blue King Ultimate has very high damage. It also deals AoE damage and gains lots of more damage at the next level. His Ultimate is very useful in many game modes. Meanwhile, the Prison Ban’s Ultimate has low damage, is single target and doesn’t add up too much damage at the next level so upgrading his ultimate is not a good move.
SR Heroes
Upgrading SR Hero Ultimates is a completely different story.
You can get many SR Coins as you progress in the game. Heroes who can be bought with SR coins are also not very strong in general.
You want to upgrade the Ultimates of the SR Heroes you use for the association. Upgrading the Ultimate of them will dramatically increase the power of the main Heroes in your team.
This is also why SR Heroes are much better than SSR Heroes for associating.
If you have a great main Hero that you will be using for a very long time, you want to build up an association for them. This is when you can spend all of the SR coins you have for upgrading that association hero.
For example, all Elizabeth & Hawk Heroes in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross can work very well in association with Melodas. You can to build up the SR Blue Meliodas, max him out, max him Ultimate out and he will be extremely helpful at buffing Elizabeth & Hawk (all versions).
Normal Association Vs. Combined Attack
Associations
There are actually 2 kinds of associations in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.
- Normal association: This one simply provide extra stats for the main Hero.
- Combined attack: This one is similar to the normal association. However, the main hero’s ultimate will be boosted with new animation and bonus stats.
The combined attack is better than normal association, but not always. If the main hero Ultimate is not very important and doesn’t have a big difference when having a Combined attack, you can focus on building up the normal association hero if it’s easier for you.
There are some SR Heroes who have very great Unique skills while the Ultimate skills are bad. Don’t upgrade their Ultimate if you use them as your main Heroes.

Only level up SR Ultimate when
- The hero is great for the association.
- The hero has a great Ultimate.
Closet / Cosmetic
The SSR/UR cosmetic stats The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross are relevant.
In general, all UR cosmetics are better than SSR cosmetics.
There are a few cases when the heroes require some specific stats, it’s when they need SSR cosmetics rather than UR cosmetics.
You can have an unlimited amount of cosmetics. However, you can only gain stats from 5 cosmetics at max.
For example, If your King has 10 weapons, 4 armors, and 12 heads, he only gains the stats from 5 weapons, 4 armors, and 5 heads.
Registering for the cosmetics you want to gain its stats. Do this in the Cosmetic tab of each Hero.
You can use a cosmetic for its look but not hits stats by equipping it but not registering it.
All versions of the same character can share their cosmetics together. A character can have multiple versions in this game. For example there are different version of Meliodas but they all share the same cosmetics. When you purchase a cosmetic for Meliodas, all Meliodas versions you have can use it.
Where can I buy Cosmetics?
- Pop-up Shop: Most Cosmetics in the Pop-up Shop can be purchased with Gold. UR Cosmetics cost 30 Gems to buy.
- Affinity: When you max out the Affinity of a character, you will gain a free head-piece Cosmetic.
- Evolution: Doing an evolution of a character to level 60 rewards you a cosmetics. Don’t do this at the early game just because you like the cosmetic of a Hero.
- Sacred Treasure shop – It costs Diamonds to purchase here.
- There is a special event that offers limited cosmetics and a great deal of 50 Diamonds + 4 UR cosmetics for only $40. If you are usually buying monthly and weekly packages, this is definitely the best deal you will want to purchase.
Which Cosmetics should I buy?
- Most of the time, non-UR cosmetics that cost Diamonds to purchase are not worth buying unless that character has only a few cosmetics. You will get a lot of cosmetics over time so don’t waste your Gems on them.
- If your character is useful in many game modes.
- If a character has different color versions and they are all useful in different game modes. For example, Elizabeth & Hawk character has 3 versions and they are all very useful in many game modes, you will get the most bang for your buck when buying cosmetics for them.
- Keep in mind that your characters need only weapon cosmetics.
For example, Green Jericho is the only good version of Jericho (so far) and her best use is in the Guild Boss due to her high Ultimate damage. So you might only need her UR weapon as it increases her damage. You don’t really need her body/head cosmetics as they increase the HP/Defense and don’t make any big difference.
I am a Free-to-Play player, should I buy cosmetics using Diamonds?
Yes, for some characters it’s totally worth it to do that (SR Gowther, Blue Skinny King, etc).
If you have a good PvP team and you are sure that they will be viable for a long time so it’s totally worth it!
